FAI Futsal Tournament

In October, 9 girls from the 3rd and 4th classes travelled to Corduff Sports and Leisure Centre to represent the school in the FAI Futsal Tournament. Futsal is very similar to soccer, the main difference being it is played on smaller size pitches.
For most of the 9 girls, it was their first time to play a competitive match for the school and they did themselves proud. Although they came up against schools who regularly compete in these competitions, they did not let that faze them and won their first match. They drew their second match but unfortunately the opposition were too strong in the following 2 matches. Overall, it was a wonderful display by every girl, with the skills of tackling, kicking and shooting on display. Most importantly, their teamwork and fair play was evident for everyone to see!
The nine girls who played that day were: Buky, Andreea, Leen, Emily, Ellie (3rd class) and Monique, Nadine, Shivani, Maddie (4th class).
Maith sibh cailíní and hopefully we’ll be back in 2020 for some more fun matches!
