School Life 2018-2019

Single Point Perspective

Our Sixth Class girls like to keep everything in perspective! A good idea for Art and a great idea for life!

Autumn is All Around Us

We have been looking at signs of Autumn all around us. Look at the beautiful colours .

Fifth Class Space Travellers

The girls in Fifth Class have been exploring Space. Look how beautiful it is!

Maths? Or Art? Or both?

Maths is everywhere around us.

Roald Dahl Day

The girls in Fourth Class have been reading Roald Dahl’s book, The Twits. They really enjoyed the story. They recommend this book to everyone who likes to curl up with a good book that will make you laugh!

Impressionism

Our Sixth Class girls have been studying Impressionism – a style of painting which was popular in the 19th Century. Small brush strokes and an emphasis on light are hallmarks of this type of painting. Haven’t they captured the style very well in their own impressionist paintings?

We’re happy to say that we come from everywhere!

In Scoil Bhríde (Cailíní) we have girls from all over the world in our school. Can you see your country in these photos?

Owl Babies

The girls in Junior Infants love the story of ‘The Owl Babies’. They painted their own owls. Aren’t they cute? Well done girls!

Little Helpers

Our Junior Infants like to lend a helping hand. What a good idea for all of us!

Tóraíocht Dhiarmada agus Ghráínne

This is a very famous old Irish story. It tells of Diarmaid and Gráinne and their journey around Ireland, trying to evade capture by Fionn Mac Cumhaill. You’ll have to read the story to find out if they escaped or were caught!

GAA Fun for All

Our Senior Infants have been having lots of fun practising their football and camogie skills over the last number of weeks in their After School Club on Tuesdays with GAA Coach, Barry. For their last session, they boarded a double decker bus and headed down to Russell Park bringing some of  their parents and grandparents […]

European Day of Languages

We celebrated European Day of Languages in style! This is an important day in Europe as it celebrates all languages (not just European ones!) So we heard languages from every continent in Scoil Bhríde (Cailíní) and enjoyed listening to all of them.

Chinese New Year

March 2019 Some Chinese lanterns from First Class and some Chinese dragons from Third Class to mark the start of the Chinese New Year.

Engineers at Work

Throughout the school, the girls have been working with wheels, pulleys, magnets, building blocks and other tools of the engineer’s profession. They have discovered all sorts of interesting things about various aspects of engineering projects. In these photos, the girls in First Class show us some of their work. Well done to all.

Tír Eolas/Geography

‘Tír Eolas’ is translated as ‘ Knowledge about Countries’ or ‘Knowledge about the Land’. Here, in Scoil Bhríde (Cailíní), we know how important Geography is – probably because we come from so many different lands! Have a look at a beautiful maps of Italy and of France, made by the girls in 3rd and 5th […]

Gymnastics Day

March 2019 The girls had a wonderful day when Ms. O’Reilly took every class for a specialised gymnastics lesson. There were great displays of rolling, balancing and weight-bearing to mention just a few of the skills the girls explored on the day. In fact, this was such a success, we think we should do it […]
