Letter from Chairperson, Board of Management

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Board of Management of Scoil Bhríde (Cailíní) would like to share with you our thoughts on school reopening for the new school year.

We anticipate that you have questions and concerns as we approach the re-opening of our school.

As a school community we are dealing with an unprecedented situation.  The impact on the well-being of our pupils, their families, our teachers and ancillary staff should not be underestimated.

While we have received guidance from the Department of Education & Skills, there is no blueprint or detailed guide provided for each school.

We are reliant on this guidance along with the efforts of our Teachers and Ancillary Staff, under the leadership of our Principal, Paula Dargan, to develop that plan for our school.

We are confident that resources such as funding committed by the Government will be made available in advance of reopening.

At this point in time we do not have all of the specifics and anticipate a lot of effort in preparation by our school community as we come closer to the end of August.

We will adjust our plan in line with updated guidance and our lessons learned using a growth mindset and placing the health and safety of our pupils, teachers and ancillary staff at the forefront.

On behalf of the Principal, teachers and ancillary staff, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during these first weeks following re-opening.

We ask for your co-operation with the protocols and procedures which will be new to all of us but necessary for the safety of the entire school community.

Finally, we ask that you rely on trusted sources for information on school reopening: the school and the Department of Education & Skills.

Updates will continue to be shared on our school website http://www.scoilbhridecailini.ie/

If you have a specific concern relating to your daughter, we recommend that you contact the school directly in advance of school reopening.

On behalf of the Board I would like to express our sincere thanks to the Principal and teachers who have worked continuously through the summer planning for reopening, interviewing for new teachers and special needs assistants in a positive and extremely professional manner.

Sincerely,

Peter Fitzpatrick

Chairperson, Board of Management.
