On Wednesday 26th of March, we were delighted to welcome Farmer Tom and his mobile farm from Co. Laois. He brought lots of friendly farm animals. There has never been such excitement in the car park! The children adored it. We funded this using school lotto funds.

Hanna in fourth class completed this incredible project at home! This is a model of our solar system. She has included pictures of the Polish astronomer Nicolai Copernicus who discovered that the planets orbit the sun and a photo of Irish astronaut Dr. Nora Patten. Well done, Hanna!

The girls in sixth class have been learning all about Greece. We wrote to the Greek ambassador and received a lovely reply. We also made these 3D maps of Greece and we thought you might like them. 

The girls in 4th Class were busy researching, designing and building bridges during the school’s recent STEM week. They learned about all the different types of bridges and then put their new knowledge into practice when they built their own bridges in groups. I think there might be some future Engineers in our midst!

The girls in Seoda had great fun planting sunflower seeds today. We are very excited to watch them grow!  

We learned all about the solar system through our report writing. We created some mixed-media paintings of astronauts to accompany our work.

Meryl was presented with the Friendship Award as she always displays the traits of good friendship.   We created friendship recipes outlining the traits of being a ‘good friend’.   

6th class made compliment boxes. 3D Origami boxes made with colourful paper and each child wrote a nice compliment for their classmate. By the end of the activity, each girl had a box full of compliments from her whole class 😊  

The girls in Scoil Bhríde Cailíní were busy practicing and using as much Irish as they could during Seachtain na Gaeilge, which ran from the 11th to the 29th of March.
